September Newsletter

Well, here it is...our new website! At our September ASC meeting we voted to keep the "dash" in our name, and allow members' submissions of artwork, etc. We have agreed unanimously that the Internet was a cost-effective solution to the labor and expense involved in mailing out a traditional newsletter. With the large geographic nature of the Wyo-Braska Area, our groups are spread out over considerable distances. Hopefully this online newsletter will improve the timely distribution of information to our various groups and their members.

Several groups were not represented at our last ASC meeting, and this was indeed a bummer. It was a very important meeting in regards to our current condition. We voted to make Scottsbluff the ASC headquarters, all future ASC meetings will be held at the Clean and Serene Group Clubhouse.

The treasury books were audited, found to be in good order, and approved unanimously. We regret the resignation of our Treasurer, but appreciate all his hard work. Much thanks to Les for his excellent preparation of the audit... The position of Treasurer continues to be unfilled.

Another sad resignation was Todd, our Area Literature Rep., who recently got married. His efforts at handling and organizing our large inventory were much appreciated, and he will be missed. So, the position of Lit. Rep. is also now vacant.

There was significant discussion over just how much business the Area Service Committe should be voting on when less than half of the GSR's were present at this meeting. It should be noted that regular attendance of these meetings is one of the responsibilities of being a GSR. Causing important business to continually be tabled is actually a disservice. The NA Colorado website recently published an article about the subject of attendance, and the bottom line was that people unwilling to fully accept the responsibility of attendance should not be chosen to serve.
